Student Clubs
A quintessential part of university life in Korea is the vibrant student club culture. KAIST has many student clubs in a variety of activities and topics. Unfortunately, not every club is ready to have international students as its members, perhaps from language barriers or cultural differences. To reward student clubs that actively include international students in its membership and activities and to encourage other clubs to follow suit, ISSS operates a club certification program: Certified by the International Office. Each semester, ISSS selects clubs that make feasible efforts towards inclusivity and cultural exchange by welcoming international students as its members and organizing activities that can be enjoyed by all. Selected clubs are given a special plaque that reads "Certified by the International Office" to be placed on the entrance of their club rooms. In addition, clubs also receive monetary prizes up to a maximum of 800 thousand won. Please see below for the list of clubs that have received certification.
