Since its establishment in 1971, KAIST has been increasingly recognized for its excellence in education and research throughout the world.
It is manifested in the steady rise of its place in the university rankings by prominent global organizations such QS (43rd in 2015) and the
THE World University Rankings (52nd in 2014).
In its firmly grounded place in the international community of higher and cutting-edge research, KAIST is committed to undertaking
fundamental scientific technological research projects to solve global issues in collaboration with its international partners - which tallies
up to 248 institutions in 62 countries.
KAIST Alumni Network
The excellence of KAIST is demonstrated most candidly through international recognition of the
achievements of our faculty and the performance of our graduates. We are proud of our graduates
who are actively putting their skills at use in many corners of the world.
One of the alumni network best represented on the internet is KAIST America, an association of our alumni currently residing in a vast number
of areas in the United States.

QS World University Rankings
QS World University Rankings published annually by British Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). In 2009, QS launched the QS Asian University
Ranking or QS University Rankings: Asia in partnership with The Chosun Ilbo newspaper in Korea to rank universities in Asia independently.
